Britt, Vanlandingham lead Lady Wolves to sweep of Northwest Mississippi

WESSON – Sophomores Kayla Britt and Kamryn Vanlandingham went 6-for-7 and 5-for-7 respectively to lead the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves to a sweep over the Northwest Lady Rangers. The Lady Wolves (9-15, 4-8) took the opener 5-2 and game two 8-5. Northwest falls to 13-11 overall, 7-5 in the conference.

“It was a good sweep of a solid Northwest squad,” said Lady Wolves head coach Allen Kent. “We got some timely hits and played better defensively.”

Micah Davis returns to Co-Lin

WESSON – Former Copiah-Lincoln Community College quarterback Micah Davis is returning to the Wolfpack as a member of the coaching staff. Davis, a 2008 Copiah-Lincoln graduate, is the son of current head football coach Glenn Davis. He will take on an offensive role with an emphasis on the quarterbacks.

No. 1 Jones County sweeps Lady Wolves

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Community Lady Wolves dropped a doubleheader to the NJCAA’s No. 1 ranked Jones County Lady Bobcats. Jones County rallied to take game one 7-4 and blanked the Lady Wolves in the nightcap 16-0 in five innings.

“We played really well in game one,” said Lady Wolves head coach Allen Kent. “Bailey (Root) continues to give us solid outings and a chance to win. She allowed four earned runs. We got some key hits from Kamryn and Logan. We had the tying run at the plate to end the game against the No. 1 ranked team in the nation.
