Wolves lose to Southwest in Summit

SUMMIT – The Wolves were unable to over come Southwest’s 58 percent shooting Thursday night as the Bears defeated Co-Lin 80-69 in Summit. The loss moves the Wolves to 10-11 on the season and 4-8 in the MACJC South Division. The Wolves are back in action as Meridian travels to Wesson to take on Co-Lin in Mullen Gymnasium Monday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. The contest is the last home game for the Wolves this season and will serve as sophomore night. The game is also Co-Lin’s breast cancer awareness game so fans are asked to wear pink. Watch the action live at colinathletics.com or listen live at WMJU 104.3 FM in Brookhaven.

Lady Wolves defeat Southwest in defensive matchup

SUMMIT – There was not much scoring in Summit Thursday night as the Lady Wolves outlasted the Lady Bears of Southwest 57-52 in a defensive contest. The win gives the Lady Wolves a 17-3 record on the year and 10-2 in the South Division. The Lady Wolves are in second place in the South Division behind Jones County. Co-Lin is back on the court Monday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. as Meridian travels to Wesson. The game will serve as sophomore night and Co-Lin’s breast cancer awareness game so fans are asked to wear pink. No. 17 Wolves fall to No. 22 East Central

WESSON – The No. 17 ranked Copiah-Lincoln Wolves lost a heartbreaking match against No. 22 East Central Wednesday after splitting singles play and losing two of three doubles courts. ECCC won the match 5-4.

“It was a tough loss for the men,” said head coach Blake Smith. “Sometimes a 5-4 loss early in the season can help teams close out big matches later on so we have to take this as a learning experience for later in the season.”
