Ronny Ross, Head Coach

Two time state champion coach Ronny Ross begins his 17th year leading the golf program at Co-Lin. He also serves as director of golf operations at Wolf Hollow Golf Course.

 

2017 was a breakout season for the Wolves. Co-Lin claimed the NJCAA District D Cahmpionship, and traveled to Long Bow Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. to compete in the NJCAA DII National Championship where the Wolves finished eleventh. The impressive run landed Ross the Dave Williams National Coach of the Year Award. 

The 2013 season was a banner year for Ross and the Co-Lin golf team. The Wolfpack captured the MACJC State Championship at Dixie Golf Club in Laurel. Corban May was match medalist in the State Championship and became the first Co-Lin golfer to receive the Hubert Tucker award, given to the MACJC player with the lowest scoring average for the year. The team finished runner-up in the NJCAA Region XXIII tournament and May was also match medalist at that tournament, which qualified him for the NJCAA National Tournament at Goosepond Country Club in Scottsboro, Ala. 

Ross was named the 2013 Mississippi Association of Coaches (MAC) Junior College Golf Coach of the Year. Ross was also named the 2013 MACJC Coach of the Year and was honored as the 2013 NJCAA Division II Central Region Coach of the Year by Eaton Golf Pride.

Ross led the 2009 Wolfpack golf team to their first-ever MACJC Division II State Championship. He was named MACJC Coach of the Year in 2009.

He previously served as head golf professional at Wolf Hollow and Co-Lin’s golf coach from 1995-2001.

Prior to coming to Wolf Hollow, Ross served as head golf professional and general manager of Brookhaven Country Club and was assistant golf professional at Oak Harbor Golf Club in Slidell, La.

Ross is a member of the Professional Golf Association of America - Gulf States (Mississippi and Louisiana) Section. He served as vice president and tournament director for all assistant golf pros in Mississippi and Louisiana in 1994-95 and is the past president of the Mississippi Junior Golf Association. Ross was named 2009 MACJC Coach of the Year.

He is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.S. in marketing/professional golf management. Ross and his wife, Elizabeth, are the parents of two children, Jacob and Olivia.

Craig Hennington begins his 11th year as volunteer assistant golf coach. He is a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College where he was a two-year member of the Wolfpack golf team.

Hennington received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and his master’s degree from William Carey College in mathematics.

He has been a member of the Copiah-Lincoln mathematics division as an instructor since 2000. Hennington was the recipient of the 2009 Ann Bradberry Award which is presented to a faculty, staff or administrator of the college who the students feel have made an extra effort to assist students. He has also served as the past president of the Wolf Hollow Golf Association.
