Co-Lin soccer hosting alumni match

WESSON –– The Copiah-Lincoln Community College women's and men's soccer programs will host an alumni soccer match on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Co-Lin Soccer Field on the Wesson campus. All former players are invited and encouraged to participate in the event. The women's match will be held at 3 p.m. with the men following at 5:00 p.m.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has honored 19 Copiah-Lincoln Community College student-athletes for their classroom excellence in 2014-2015. Co-Lin had more student-athletes honored than any other school in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC).
Co-Lin Pee Wee Cheer Camp July 13-15

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln cheerleaders will host their annual Pee Wee Cheer Camp on July 13-15 .The camp takes place in Callender Hall and goes from 8:30-11:30 a.m. daily. The camp is open to girls in K3-6th Grade and costs $40. A camp T-shirt is included in the cost of the camp. The registration deadline is July 6. Camp instructors will include the Co-Lin cheerleaders.
Co-Lin cheer hosting Boys Agility Camp

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln cheer squad is hosting a Boys Agility Camp in Wesson on July 6-8. The camp is open to boys in kindergarten through sixth grade and camp sessions are from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The focus of the camp is to teach agility, speed, coordination, balance, and self-confidence. Cost of the camp is $45 and it will take place in Callender Hall. The registration deadline is July 1.
Co-Lin remembers Mitch Deaver

WESSON – The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges (MACJC) suffered a great blow on Tuesday, June 2 when longtime Pearl River sports information director Mitch Deaver passed away. Deaver was considered among his peers to be one of the most talented photographers in the state. Copiah-Lincoln sports information director Natalie Davis remembers how Deaver would often go out of his way to provide photographs for his contemporaries at community colleges around the state.
Allen named Co-Lin cheer coach

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Athletic Director Gwyn Young announces the hiring of Micah Beassie Allen as the new cheerleading coach for Co-Lin athletics. Allen is a 2003 graduate of Co-Lin and served as a Wolfpack cheerleader during her time as a student. Allen replaces longtime cheer coach Twyana Morse.
Wolves have up and down week on the diamond

WESSON – The Wolves went 2-2 on the week as Co-Lin hosted two midweek double headers. Co-Lin swept Bishop State 16-6 and 12-8 after impressive hitting Tuesday, but lost two games to Delgado Community College 9-0 and 10-7 on Wednesday. The games move the Wolves to 3-5 on the young season. Co-Lin is back on the field Saturday, March 4 as the Wolves travel to Baton Rouge to face Baton Rouge Community College.
Co-Lin falls to Panola College at home

WESSON – Co-Lin struggled to get runners across the plate Friday as Panola College swept the Wolves in Wesson. The losses move the Wolves to 1-3 on the season, with two double headers this week. Co-Lin is set to host Bishop State on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. and Delgado Community College Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m.
Co-Lin splits with Mineral Area to open the 2017 season

WESSON – The Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln split game with Mineral Area College Saturday to open the 2017 season. The Wolves won game one handedly, 12-7, but fell in game two after an eight-run seventh inning rally fell short. The Wolves lost 11-10. The Wolves are back on the diamond Friday, Feb. 17 as Panola College travels to Wesson. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Wolves look to be aggressive in 2017

WESSON – The 2017 Copiah-Lincoln Wolves enter baseball play with the goal of fast-paced, aggressive play. After a season of both highs and lows, fourth year head coach Clay Smith has high hopes for this year’s squad.
“We are going to be fast, aggressive, and do everything we can to get into scoring position as quickly as possible,” said Smith. “We have 20 freshman who are very energetic and love the game, so I expect this year to be fun.”

Jack Edmonson joins Co-Lin Baseball as assistant coach

WESSON – Jack Edmonson, a Louisville, Miss. native, joins Co-Lin with an abundance of coaching experience to help lead the Wolves in 2017. Edmonson graduated from East Central Community College in 2009 before earning a degree in Heath, Physical Education and Recreation from Mississippi Valley State University in 2011. Edmonson was a member of both the ECCC Warriors’ and MVSU Delta Devils’ baseball teams. After his time at MVSU, Edmonson continued his education at Delta State University where he received a Master of Teaching in Sports Management and Human Performance in 2015.

Three Diamond Wolves receive postseason honors

WESSON – Three members of the Copiah-Lincoln Community College baseball team received postseason honors from the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC). Champ Davison of Moss Point, Matthew Mordecai of Madison, and Cole Langdon of Ventress, Louisiana, were named MACJC Second Team All-State.
Diamond Wolves schedule baseball camp

WESSON – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolfpack will host a baseball camp June 6-9, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Sullivan Field on the Wesson Campus. The camp is for players ages 6-12. Cost of the camp is $80 for pre-registered campers and $100 for walk-up registration. Pre-registration is recommended for scheduling purposes. Campers should report to Sullivan Field at 8:30 a.m. on June 6.
Co-Lin to host State Games District 7 baseball tryouts

Co-Lin will hold the District 7 tryouts for the 2016 State Games All Star Baseball Tournament on Tuesday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at Sullivan Field on the Wesson Campus. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Tryouts are open to any 2017-2018 private or public school graduates.
Wolves season ends after dropping pair to MS Delta

MOORHEAD – The Wolves finished their season with two tough road losses Monday against the Trojans of Mississippi Delta. Co-Lin struggled from the mound, throwing many wild pitches. In the field, the Wolves racked up a combined 10 errors in the two contests. The losses give the Wolves a final season record of 10-33.
Co-Lin swept by Itawamba on sophomore day

WESSON – For 14 Wolves Saturday marked the last time the players would take Sullivan Field. The sophomores were unable to come away with a win in their final home appearances as the long ball hoist ICC to victory. A two-hour rain delay postponed the action early in game one. Itawamba won the first game 16-6 and the second 8-2. The tough losses move Co-Lin to 10-31 on the season.
