Three members of the Wolfpack football team have been selected to the 2009 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region XXIII Team. Selected to the team are center Darion Smith of Brookhaven, punter Tyler Fitzgerald of Florence and defensive back Dequan Menzie of Columbus, Ga. Menzie was a 2-year defensive starter for Coach Glenn Davis’ Wolfpack. He was selected a NJCAA Pre-Season Second Team All-American selection. Fitzgerald (6-2, 230), a Simpson County Academy product, was third in the league in punting with a 38.8-yard average. His longest punt of the season was 61 yards. He was named to the MACJC Second Team All-State his freshman season.

The Wolfpack, coached by Glenn Davis, finished the 2009 season with a 6-3 overall record, 4-2 in the South Division.
