Briggs sparks Lady Wolves over Itawamba

WESSON - Sophomore Vintrice Briggs pumped in 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Wolves to a 62-48 win non-division win over the reigning state champion Itawamba Lady Indians. Co-Lin improves to 10-2 on the season. The Lady Indians fall to 8-5.

After a very competitive first half, the Lady Wolves held a slim 29-28 halftime lead.

Poor shooting plagued the Lady Indians in the second half as they went 8-for-30 for 31 percent.

Co-Lin shot 46 percent (23-of-50) from the field. They outrebounded Itawamba 42-33 and outcored them in the paint 28-16.

Sophomore guard Chante Poole added 11 points and 6 rebounds. LaVasha Allen had 7 rebounds. Tiffany Smith made 8 steals.

For Itawamba, TyNita Baker scored a game-high 20 points. LyTia Coleman led on the backboards with 11 rebounds.
