WESSON, Miss. – The No. 9 Copiah-Lincoln Community College golf team had a strong second day this past weekend to secure a third place finish on their home course, Wolf Hollow, in the second MACJC Event of the 2017-2018 season. Meridian Community College won the event after back-to-back stellar rounds of 281 and 275 for a team total of 556. Gulf Coast Community College finished second with a team total of 574. The Wolves were tied for third with Itawamba Community College after both teams shot 300 on the first round. The Wolves bounced back on Sunday with a 294 and secured the third place spot with a 594.
Matthew Scoville and Lucas Brewer led the charge for the Wolves on the second day. Scoville, a sophomore from Madison, Miss., was two under on Saturday and backed that round up on Sunday shooting even par. Scoville earned All-Tournament Team honors after finishing with a two-day total of 142.
Brewer, a freshman from Hohenwald, Tenn., finished the tournament with a 143 after carding a 73 on Saturday and firing a 70 Sunday.
Cameron Little, a freshman from Baton Rouge, La., posted an 81 followed by an impressive 74 to finish the tournament with a 155.
Zachary Smith, a sophomore from Madison, Miss., shot a 157 on the weekend after carding a 79 and a 78.
Bragg Eplin, a freshman from Gautier, Miss., rounded out the Wolves' starters. The freshman shot a 78 on Saturday and followed it with an 83 on Sunday for a two-day total of 161.
Co-Lin's Bryce Chapman, a freshman from Hazlehurst, Miss., played as an individual in the tournament and posted a 90 and 86 for a two-day total of 176.
