Wolves place fourth in second MACJC Event

AMORY, Miss. – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College golf team finished fourth this week at the MACJC Event #2 in Amory, Miss. The event was hosted by Itawamba Community College at the Ackia Golf Club. Co-Lin fired a 305 on Monday and 302 on Tuesday to lock in the fourth place finish.

Mississippi Gulf Coast ran away at the top of the leaderboard with a team total of 560, followed by Itawamba's first team with a 593, and Meridian rounded out the top three with a 602. Co-Lin was just five strokes behind Meridian at 607. Hinds and Itawamba's B team placed fifth and sixth respectively.

Garrett Herring, who shot a 78 and 71, led Co-Lin with a two-day total 149, which was tied for the ninth best finish. Logan Pitts shot a 76 on day one and backed it up with a 74 on Tuesday for a 150. Bryce Chapman shot a 75, 79 for a 154 and was followed by Bryson Jones and Lucas Brewer who shot 76, 80 and 78, 78 respectively for 156 finishes. Adam Files rounded out the Wolves with a 76, 81 two-day total of 157.

Co-Lin is back in action on October 28 and October 30 as the Wolves travel to Windance Country Club in Gulfport for the third MACJC Event of the season. For more information on the Co-Lin golf team follow @colinathletics on Twitter.
