Three MACJC State Titles landed the 2018 Co-Lin tennis team bid to the NJCAA DI National Championship in Plano, Texas. The Wolves played well over the week and picked up four wins against the strongest teams in the nation. The trip was the men’s team first trip to the national tournament since 2001.
The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves advance to the 2018 Division I NJCAA National Championship after a strong showing at the MACJC Championship this past weekend. The tournament will take place at Collin College in Plano, Texas from May 14-May 18.
WESSON – The No. 19 Co-Lin Wolfpack shut out Holmes Community College Bulldogs 9-0 in tennis action on Wednesday. The Wolfpack swept all three doubles all six singles matches. Prior to the match, Co-Lin tennis coach Brenda Smith honored her three sophomore players, Sebastian Osorio, Juan Pablo Pinilla, and Tripp Case.
RAYMOND – The No. 19 Co-Lin Wolfpack picked up a 5-4 win over the Hinds Community College Eagles in tennis action on Tuesday. The Wolfpack got off to a slow start winning one of three doubles matches. They picked up the pace in singles action taking four of singles matches.
WESSON – The No. 19 Co-Lin Wolfpack defeated the No. 25 Jones County Junior College Bobcats 5-4 in recent tennis action. The Wolfpack took two out of three doubles matches and three of six singles matches. In a meeting earlier this year, Co-Lin defeated Jones 6-3.
MERIDIAN – The No. 10 ranked Meridian Eagles were too much for No. 19 Co-Lin as they took a 6-3 win over the Wolfpack yesterday. Co-Lin (4-3) host Jones County on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. The match was originally scheduled for Thursday, but was postponed due to inclement weather.
DECATUR – The No. 19 Co-Lin Wolfpack defeated No. 22 Wallace State Community College 5-4 at East Central Community College in Decatur. The Wolfpack (4-2) are on the road Wednesday to play Meridian at 2 p.m.
DECATUR – The Co-Lin's men's tennis team rebounded from their first loss of the season with a 5-4 win over East Central in Decatur on Thursday. The Wolfpack (3-1) travel to Holmes Community College on Tuesday, March 20, with matches beginning at 1 p.m.
WESSON – The Co-Lin's men's tennis team lost their first match of the season to the Hinds Community College Eagles 6-3. The Wolfpack (2-1) travel to East Central Thursday with matches beginning at 2 p.m.
After first place finishes in the ITA Regionals Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Sebastian Osorio and Juan Pinilla traveled to Rome, Ga. for the ITA Oracle Cup, a national community and junior college tournament.
