April 24, 2017

WESSON – The Lady Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln Community College were unable to overcome the No. 6 Lady Indians on Friday, as Itawamba swept Co-Lin 10-1, 7-0. The losses give Co-Lin a 17-23 overall record and a 12-16 record in the MACJC. Friday’s contests were Co-Lin’s final league games, and the losses put the Lady Wolves one spot out of the playoffs.

“We put ourselves in a position where we had to beat the No. 6 and No. 9 teams in the nation and just couldn’t get it done,” said Lady Wolves’ head coach Allen Kent. “There were 8-10 close losses where we beat ourselves, especially early in division play…we play in the toughest JUCO league in the nation and you have to win the games you’re supposed to.”

Co-Lin is back in action Monday, April 24 at 3 p.m. as Baton Rouge travels to Wesson for the final game of the season. Co-Lin’s sophomores will be recognized between games.
