McNeal Nabs MACCC Defensive Player of the Week Honors
JACKSON- The Co-Lin Football team had a member of the defense earn conference honors this week for his performance in the Wolves 48-15 win over the Pearl River Community College Wildcats on Thursday, September 23. Freshman defensive back Ques McNeal (Ackerman) earned the MACCC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
McNeal had four tackles, one pass breakup, and two interceptions during the Wolves win. McNeal's interceptions both came during the Wolves 27-point third quarter and both led to touchdowns. The first interception came in the Wildcats second possession of the third quarter and led to a 24-yard touchdown pass on the ensuing drive, while the second interception was returned 22 yards for a touchdown and gave the Wolves a 41-13 lead at the time. The pick six was the final score of the third quarter for the Wolves and was part of an overall 34-2 scoring run in the second half for the Wolves.
McNeal and the rest of the Wolves continue the 2021 season with a contest against South Division foe, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, on Thursday, September 30. The Wolves and Bulldogs will kickoff the action at 6:30 p.m., at H.L. Stone Stadium. As a reminder, tickets for all home games are available online at bit.ly/3o5eGk0.
