Wolves Set to Host Rangers in MACCC Semifinal

WESSON – There will be a Top-5 matchup in Stone Stadium this Saturday, November 8 as the No. 5 Wolves face off against the No. 4 Rangers. Co-Lin comes into the contest as the number one seed and MACCC South Division Co-Champions while Northwest Mississippi comes in as the number two seed from the MACCC North Division. Both teams enter the contest 8-1 overall and 5-1 in divisional play.

The Rangers come into the contest averaging 36.7 points per game while allowing 13.1 to their opponents. They have 200 first downs on the season with 109 rushing, 84 passing, and 7 on penalty. In the rushing game, they have amassed 1,765 yards on 348 yards with 21 touchdowns and average 196.1 yards per game and 5.1 yards per carry. Through the air, they have completed 133 of 222 pass attempts for 1,903 yards with 16 touchdowns and three interceptions and average 211.4 yards per game.

The Wolves come into the game averaging 33.1 points per game while allowing 14 points ot their opponents. The team has 201 first downs on the season with 111 rushing, 79 passing, and 11 on penalty. On the ground, the Wolves have 2,123 yards on 377 attempts with 27 touchdowns while averaging 235.9 yards per game and 5.6 yards per carry. Through the air, the Wolves have completed 123 of 205 attempts for 1,574 yards with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions and average 174.9 yards per game.

Kickoff between the Rangers and the Wolves is set for 2 p.m., at Stone Stadium in Wesson. The winner will go on to face the winner of the East Mississippi/Gulf Coast semifinal in the MACCC Championship game on Saturday, November 15.
