Bio

Nathan Wade II begins his first year as defensive backs coach for Co-Lin Football.

The Nashville, TN resident played his high school career at Montgomery Bell Academy where he earned All-State and State Championship Defensive MVP honors. After graduating, he attended Furman University where he played for the Paladins football team. During his playing career, he was a four-year starter for the Paladins and two-time All-SoCon honoree.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in economics from Furman, Wade began his high school coaching career at Whites Creek High School where he coached defensive backs in 2017. He then joined the football staff at Lipscomb Academy first starting as a coach for the middle school team from July 2019-June 2020. He then moved to the high school where he was assistant coach working with the secondary and defensive backs from July 2020 through December 2022.

Wade then transitioned to college coaching when he was named as a defensive assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In the 2023 season he coached with the defensive backs and then coached the safeties and nickels in the 2024 season.
