White tabbed MACJC Player of the Week

WESSON, Miss. – Youry White recorded his second double-double of the season last week and was just two rebounds shy of recording three double-doubles through the first three contest of the 2017-2018 season. White's stellar start to the season landed the 6'7 sophomore MACJC Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

"I could not do anything with my coaches, my teammates, and God," said White. "I put in so much work in and out of practice and make a lot of sacrifices so it's great to receive this honor…but this is only the beginning."

White led the Wolves in rebounds in Co-Lin's 101-90 victory over Mississippi Delta last Monday with eight on the night. White also scored 15 points and dished out two assists in the contest.

The Tara High School Graduate had a breakout performance just three days later when the Wolves traveled to Clarksdale to face the Coahoma Community College Tigers. White led the team with 16 points and a staggering 15 rebounds. White's efforts helped lift the Wolves to a 69-49 win.

During last week's performances White was 11-for-25 from the floor and 9-for-12 from the free throw line. The sophomore is shooting nearly 55 percent from the field on the season and is leading the Wolves with 38 rebounds.
