Warnsley Nabs Conference Honor

JACKSON – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team saw one of their own earn the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor as announced on Tuesday, November 30. Sophomore guard AJ Warnsley earned the honor for his performance for the Wolves last week.

In the lone game of the week for the Wolves, Warnsley had a tremendous impact on the Wolves come-from-behind victory over East Central. AJ finished one rebound shy of a double-double as he finished with 25 points and 9 rebounds to go along with one assist and two steals. AJ also shot 62.5 percent from the floor, 75 percent from three, and went 2-for-2 at the free throw line.

"AJ has only begun to scratch the surface of what he can become as a player for this team," stated Co-Lin head coach David Sanders. "He is a hard worker who plays the game the right way. I am looking forward to seeing how he develops as the year progresses."

On the season, Warnsley is averaging 15 points per game and 8 rebounds per game while also shooting 50 percent from the floor, 47 percent from three, and 71 percent from the free throw line.

Warnsley and the Wolves will return to action with their conference opener on the road against Southwest Mississippi on Thursday, December 2 with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
