Wolves Sophomore Earns Postseason Honor
JACKSON – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team had one of their members selected in the MACCC All-Conference teams as announced by the conference on Tuesday, March 8. Sophomore guard Lerenzo Fort III from Jackson has been selected as First Team All-Conference.
Trey had an outstanding season for the Wolves where he led the conference and was third in Division I of NJCAA at 26.3 points per game. Trey also led the conference in total points scored in the season with 526. Fort scored 20+ points in all but three of the 20 games he played in this season and started the season off by scoring 37 points in his Wolves debut against East Mississippi on November 1. That mark stood as his season and Wolves career high until February 3 when Fort scored 40 points in a game against Hinds. Trey also scored 30+ in eight games this season including the finale against East Central where he scored 33.
"Trey was an exceptional player for us this season," stated head coach David Sanders. "He saw every defensive look imaginable and fought through injury to finish third in the country in scoring."
"Trey is a great example of what can happen when a talented player buys in to being coached hard."
