Canoville Sweeps MACCC Postseason Awards
JACKSON – The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced the MACCC postseason awards for Men's Basketball for the 2022-23 season on Thursday, March 9. The Wolves swept the awards as their freshman forward Dylan Canoville (Plantation, FL) won the MACCC Player of the Year as well as Freshman of the Year in addition to being named First Team All-MACCC.
Canoville had a freshman season for the record books for the Wolves as he averaged a double-double for the season where he played in all 24 game. Canoville led the Wolves in points per game at 16.5 and rebounds per game at 12.2 as well as total point at 397 and total rebounds at 292. Canoville was sixth in the MACCC in points per game and total points and led the conference in rebounds per game and total rebounds. Canoville was also third in the NJCAA in rebounds per game. He also ended the regular season with 12 double-double performances and finished the regular season with five consecutive double-doubles. The five straight double-doubles started with a 13-point, 12-rebound performance in the Wolves 90-70 win over Coahoma and ended with the regular season finale on the road at Meridian with a 16-point, 14-rebound performance. In the Wolves 14 conference games this season, Canoville averaged 19 points per game which was third-best in the MACCC and led the MACCC with 14 rebounds per game in those contests.
