Wolves Drop Road Game Against Hinds

UTICA – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team hit the road to face off against MACCC foe Hinds on Monday, February 23. The Bulldogs beat the Wolves in tightly contested game, 80-73.

The first half saw the teams trading baskets and leads throughout most of the playing time. However, the Bulldogs ultimately held a lead, 45-35, over the Wolves as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime. The second half was closer than the second with just a one-point difference between the teams, 35-34. However, the Wolves could not overtake the Bulldogs as they held on for the 80-73 win.

Moustapha Salekh (Ngekoh, Senegal) led all scorers with 23 points and flirted with a double-double with seven rebounds along with four steals and one block while Tyrell Bowles (Springdale, MD) was the only other player for the Wolves in double digits with 11 points along with four rebounds, one steal, and three blocks.

Morris Hammond (Ridgeland) and Tristian Lucas (Pearl) had nine points while Koie Williams flirted with a double-double performance with eight points and seven assists. Dylan Creggett (DeSoto, TX) had six points, Caleb Crozier (Yazoo City) had five points, and Stevent Watkins (Ridgeland) had two points to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

Co-Lin is now 13-12 overall, 6-6 in MACCC play, and will return to action hosting Gulf Coast on Thursday, February 26. It will be the regular season home finale for the Wolves as they will celebrate Sophomore Night and honor the sophomores in between the two games. Tip-off between the Bulldogs and Wolves is set for 7:30 p.m., at Mullen Gym in Wesson.
