ELLISVILLE – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team continued the 2021 season with a South Division road match against Jones College on Friday, September 24. The Bobcats edged out the Wolves with a 1-0 win.
The first half was scoreless despite 12 combined shots from the teams and the defensive struggle continued until midway through the second half when the Bobcats found the back of the net in the 66th overall minute. Despite a frenzied attack by the Wolves, the equalizing goal would not be found in the remaining time giving the Bobcats the 1-0 win.
Sophomore goalkeeper Ben Parkinson (Bury, England) made nine saves on ten shots on goal throughout the match.
The Wolves are now 3-4-0 overall and 1-4-0 in South Division play and will return to action on the road with a scrimmage against Millsaps University on Tuesday, September 28. The action will kickoff at 6 p.m., and the Wolves will return to regular season play with a match against Northwest Mississippi on Friday, October 1 at 2 p.m., at H.L. Stone Stadium.
