RAYMOND – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team finished their non-conference part of the 2021 schedule with a road match against Hinds on Friday, October 8. The Eagles beat the Wolves by a final of 2-1.
The first half was scoreless until the last minute of the half as the Eagles found the back of the net in the 45th minute and took the 1-0 lead in at halftime.
The match remained 1-0 in favor of the Eagles until the 85th minute when the Wolves were awarded with a penalty kick, which was successfully converted by sophomore midfielder Joel Ibanez (Isle of Man, England) evening up the game at 1-1. However, the Eagles regained the lead with a goal in the 86th minute and stalled the Wolves offense for the final minutes to earn the 2-1 win.
Sophomore goalkeeper Ben Parkinson (Bury, England) saved nine of 11 shots on goal during the match.
The Wolves are 5-5-0 overall and 1-4-0 in South Division play and will start their second round of South Division play with a home match against Southwest Mississippi. The action on the pitch at H.L. Stone Stadium will kickoff at 2 p.m.
