Wolves Drop Contest Against Bears

WESSON- The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team began their second half of South Division Play with a home contest against Southwest Mississippi on Tuesday, October 12. The Bears beat the Wolves by a final of 2-1.

The game was scoreless throughout the first half as both teams combined for just four shots on goal.

The scoreless tie was broken up by the Bears as they scored their first goal in 64th minute taking a 1-0 lead and then increased their lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 81st minute.

The Wolves got on the board as sophomore forward Eli Fratesi (Leland) beat the Bears goalkeeper with an assist from freshman forward Hardy Lewis (Brandon) in the 83rd minute. Despite a furious attack by the Wolves, an equalizing goal would not be scored giving the Bears a 2-1 win.

Freshman goalkeeper Joshua Patton (Jackson) saved six of eight shots on goal throughout the match.

The Wolves are now 5-6-0 overall and 1-5-0 in South Division play and will return to action with a home match against Meridian on Friday, October 15. The action in H.L. Stone Stadium will kickoff at 7 p.m., and the Wolf Pack Soccer squads will honor their sophomore players between the women's and men's matches.
