Wolves to face on East Central in NJCAA Region 23 Tournament­­

WESSON – The Co-Lin Wolves will face the East Central Warriors in the first round of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tennis Tournament to be held at Jones College in Ellisville April 15-17. Their first round match on Thursday will begin at 2 p.m.

The Wolves finished the Mississippi Association of Community College Conference (MACCC) regular season with an 10-6 overall and 8-6 conference record and are the No. 4 seed in the tournament. The top six teams qualified for the tournament. The No. 1 seed on the men's side is Mississippi Gulf Coast, followed by Jones College, Itawamba, Co-Lin, East Central and Meridian. Mississippi Gulf Coast and Jones College drew first round byes.

The two teams split two prior meetings this season, East Central defeating Co-Lin 6-3 on Jan. 24 and the Wolves winning the second match 7-2 two weeks ago on April 1. The winner will face the No. 1 seed Mississippi Gulf Coast on Friday.

Members of the Wolf Pack include Julian Toloza of Bogota, Columbia; Julian Parada of Bogota, Columbia; Ty Nelson and John Clyde Ready, both of Monticello; Lawson Pearson of Wiggins, Skyler Rasberry, Samuel Boutwell, Drew Hulon and Matthew Oster, all of Wesson; Tyler Leggett and Tyler Lofton, both of Brookhaven; and Mason Pounds of McComb. The Wolves are coached by Dana Hale and Dr. Rob Channell.
