Wolves edge Warriors 5-4
WESSON - The Co-Lin Wolves edged the East Central Warriors 5-4 in tennis action on Sophomore Day. Eight members of the men's team and one from the women's team were honored prior to the matches. Sophomores honored included Sam Boutwell and Bryce Oster, both of Wesson; Jacob Lofton and Morgyn Brister, both of Brookhaven, Ty Nelson of Monticello, Mason Pounds of McComb, Julian Parada and Julian Toloza, both of Bogota, Columbia.
"It was a great day for Co-Lin tennis picking up a big win to round out conference play," said Co-Lin tennis coach Dana Hale. "Julian Toloza and Julian Parada finished as the No. 1 doubles team in the conference and in doing so, secured their spot to advance to the National Tournament. Ty (Nelson), Lawson (Pearson), and Jacob (Lofton) all had big wins today to clinch the match. I'm looking forward to regionals as both teams have made the tournament for the second year in a row."
