Lady Wolves Trio Nab Postseason Honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently announced the All-Region and All-American lists on Monday, May 27, and Friday, May 31. The Lady Wolves saw three members named to the teams as Madison Moak, Abby Grace Richardson, and Cara Biswell were all named All-South Region First Team while Moak and Richardson also collected First Team All-American honors while Biswell was named Second Team All-American.
Madison Moak (Brookhaven) led the Lady Wolves and the MACCC in batting average this season at .503 while also leading the team in hits at 94. The University of Southern Mississippi signee is second on the team in home runs at 16 while leading the team in double, triples, RBIs, and stolen bases with 22, 12, 69 and 19 respectively. She also has the second highest on-base percentage on the team at .546 and the highest slugging percentage at 1.005 while posting a perfect fielding percentage with no errors on 69 defensive chances posting 66 putouts and three assists and was part of one double play while playing centerfield. Moak also broke the single season and career hits records (157) this season.
Abby Grace Richardson (Brookhaven) was second on the Lady Wolves in batting average this season at .444. She led the team in home runs at 22 home runs while her 65 RBIs and 14 stolen bases are second-most on the team. She leads the team in on-base percentage at .604 and is second in slugging percentage at 1.000. Her team leading 55 walks is third in the NJCAA. This season, the Mississippi State University signee has broken the career RBI and home run records as well as the single season and career walks records in addition to holding the single season home run and RBI records from her freshman year. She has .931 fielding percentage with 12 errors on 174 defensive chances with 99 putouts and 63 assists while being part of seven double plays.
Cara Biswell (Brandon) led the Lady Wolves pitching staff in appearances (34), starts (31), and wins with 22 while compiling a 22-6 overall record and led the team in saves. She had a 2.77 earned run average leading the Lady Wolves in innings pitched at 159.1 and strikeouts at 150. Biswell threw 14 complete games and four shutouts this season while posting a whip of 1.27, a batting average against of .228, and a perfect fielding percentage making eight putouts with 32 assists on 40 total defensive chances. Biswell broke the single season appearances and starts record while her 22 wins is the second-most in a single season. During her career, she set the career appearances, starts, and wins records while also having two Top-5 single season strikeout marks, while her career 278 strikeouts are the second-most in program history.
The Lady Wolves finished the 2024 season 47-7 overall and fourth in the nation at the NJCAA Division II World Series after capturing the 2024 MACCC Regular Season Championship, their first ever in program history.
