Lady Wolves get much needed win over Hinds
UTICA – The Co-Lin Lady Wolves got back in the win column with a 53-38 over the Hinds Lady Bulldogs in women's basketball action Thursday night. Co-Lin ended a three game losing streak with the win.
"We rebounded the well tonight," said Co-Lin head coach Gwyn Young. "Our defense was good and for the most part and we played hard. We need to keep working every day to get better."
The Lady Wolves out-rebounded Hinds 54-37, but only shot 27.9 percent from field.
Freshman Aniya Sanders (Vicksburg/Warren Central High School) led the Lady Wolves with 16 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Marvia Spann (Madison/Germantown High School) dished out six assists. Derrica Gilbert (Minden, LA/Minden High School) collected six rebounds. Madelyn Webster (Pocahontas/Clinton High School), Jakrya Young (Kosciusko/Kosciusko High School) and Jakiyla Esco (Ridgeand/Ridgeland High School) pulled down five rebounds apiece.
