Co-Lin falls to East Central

DECATUR– The Co-Lin Lady Wolves fell to the East Central Lady Warriors 52-45 in the last regular season game of the year. 

East Central held a 11-5 lead after the first quarter and a 21-20 lead at the half. Jana Case (Brookhaven/Brookhaven Academy) hit a three-pointer with 45 second left in the third quarter to pull Lady Wolves to within two at 35-33.

In the fourth quarter, Co-Lin took a 37-36 lead on Morgan McCray's (Ridgeland/Ridgeland High School) bucket with 7:34 remaining in the game. But East Central would go on a 16-8 run to end the game.

The Lady Warrior defense held Co-Lin's leading scorer Aniya Sanders (Vicksburg/Warren Central High School) without a bucket until the third quarter. East Central had 14 steals and 13 blocked shots in the game.

Orlandrea McGee (Forest/Forest High School) had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Sanders had eight points, pulled down 12 rebounds and dished out five assists.

Sylvia Jones was the only Lady Warrior in double figures with 11 points. Mirial Cannon and Asia Madison led off the backboards with 13 and 10 rebounds respectively.
