Lady Wolves Drop Game Against Lady Bengals
EUNICE, La. – The Co-Lin Women's Basketball team hit the road for a game against LSU-Eunice on Thursday, December 4. The Lady Bengals beat the Lady Wolves, 73-59.
The first quarter saw the Lady Bengals outscore the Lady Wolves, 23-15, to hold a lead by that margin at the end of play. The Lady Bengals extended their lead in the second quarter by outscoring the Lady Wolves, 17-11, making the score 40-26 as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime.
The third quarter saw the Lady Wolves outscore the Lady Bengals, 19-14, cutting the lead down to 54-45 heading into the fourth quarter. However, the Lady Bengals outscored the Lady Wolves, 19-14, to seal the 73-59 win.
Kamaiyah Pruitt (Pass Christian) led the way for the Lady Wolves as she set a new career high in a double-double performance of 28 points and 13 rebounds. The 28 points breaks the career high, 24, she had in a game against LSU-E earlier this season on November 17. Akeelah Hobson (Oakdale, LA) narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds while Eymani Key (Lafayette, LA) had seven points with three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block.
Zion Nelson (Byram) had five points with seven rebounds while Tyra Johnson (Morton) had four points with Maddison Mitchell (Baton Rouge, LA) and Jaylynn Applewhite (Gulfport) adding three points each to round out the scoring for the Lady Wolves.
Co-Lin is now 7-2 overall and will return to action on the road against Southern-Shreveport on Saturday, December 6. Tip-off between the Lady Wolves and the Lady Jaguars is set for 1 p.m., in Shreveport.
