Lady Wolves Duo Earn Conference Honors
JACKSON – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team had a pair of freshmen earn All-Conference honors as announced by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference on Thursday, November 4.
Midfielder Sarah Nalley and defender Jessie Heflin both were named Second Team All-Conference for the South Division.
Nalley, a Brandon native, started all 16 games for the Lady Wolves and helped to bolster the attack for the squad. Sarah accounted for seven overall points with two goals and three assists during the season.
"Sarah is a very smart player with a great range of passing," stated Co-Lin Soccer head coach Tom Cosgrave. "She has been our playmaker in the midfield all season and did an excellent job linking play for us."
Heflin, a Florence native, played in all 16 games with 15 starts for the Lady Wolves. Heflin was an anchor for the Lady Wolves back line all season and had one assist for the squad.
"Jessie has been a rock back there for us defensively all year," Cosgrave said. "She reads the game very well and has made crucial tackles for us to stop goals."
