Co-Lin Soccer Brings in Postseason Honors

JACKSON – The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) recently announced the Women's and Men's Soccer All-MACCC recipients. The Co-Lin Soccer teams saw four members earn All-MACCC honors as Amelia Bubb earned Honorable Mention honors for the Lady Wolves while Yohan Bedoya and Lucas Giacomini earned First Team honors and Jaime Duran earned Second Team honors for the Wolves.

Amelia Bubb, a native of St. George's, Grenada, played in all 13 games this season for the Lady Wolves and was an integral part of the midfield. The sophomore totaled four shots on the season with two on goal and played 26 games in her career with a total of 11 shots with seven on-goal.

The Lady Wolves finished the season 5-7-2 overall, 3-6-2 in MACCC play.

Yohan Bedoya, a native of Bogota, Colombia, played in all 16 games for the Wolves this season with 15 starts. The sophomore midfielder finished the season with eight goals and six assists for a total of 22 points along. Bedoya also had 48 shots on the season with 24 of those on target. He finishes his career with 15 goals and 12 assists for 42 career points in 31 games played with 30 starts. Bedoya was also a First Team All-MACCC honoree in his freshman season making him the first player to earn two-time First Team honors since the Wolves resumed soccer in 2019.

Lucas Giacomini, a native of Newcastle, England, played and started in 14 games for the Wolves this season as a member of the Wolves defensive backline. The sophomore defender had one assist on the season and finishes his career with two goals and two assists in 28 career games.

Bedoya and Giacomini also earn NJCAA All-Region 23 honors for being First Team All-MACCC honorees.

Jaime Duran, a native of Madison, played in all 16 games for the Wolves with 15 starts. While facing 111 shots on goal during the season, he saved 94 while allowing 17 goals for a save percentage of 84.7 and a goals against average of 1.16. In his career, Duran played in 29 games with 27 saves and faced 183 shots with 152 saves and 31 goals for a save percentage of 83.1 and a goals against average of 1.25.

The Wolves finished the season 8-6-2 overall, 5-4-2 in MACCC play, and earned a berth in the Gulf South District Tournament where they lost in the Quarterfinals to Pearl River, 3-2.
