Lady Wolves Drop Match Against Bobcats

ELLISVILLE – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team continued MACCC play with their final road match of the regular season against Jones on Friday, October 24. The No. 7 Bobcats beat the Lady Wolves, 3-1.

The Bobcats got on the board early as they scored in the second minute of the match to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Wolves looked for an equalizer throughout the remainder of the first half, but could not find it as the Bobcats held their 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Bobcats added goals in the 67th and 70th minutes to increase their lead to 3-0. The lone goal for the Lady Wolves as Madeline Logan (Brandon) blasted a ball over the keeper in the 81st minute to cut the lead down to 3-1. The Lady Wolves continued to try and find the back of the net, but were unsuccessful as the Bobcats sealed the 3-1 win.

Sophomore keeper Olivia Conway (Huddersfield, England) saved five of eight shots on goal faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin is now 5-6-2 overall, 3-5-2 in MACCC play, and will wrap up the regular season hosting Northwest on Tuesday, October 28 while celebrating Sophomore Night. The action on the pitch between the Lady Wolves and the No. 3 Lady Rangers kicks off at 6 p.m., at Stone Stadium in Wesson.
