Lady Wolves Drop Thriller Against Lady Bulldogs

WESSON – The Co-Lin Women's Soccer team continued MACCC play by hosting Holmes on Tuesday, October 21. The No. 2 Lady Bulldogs used a come-from-behind effort to beat the Lady Wolves, 2-1.

The Lady Wolves took advantage of early scoring opportunities and got on the board first as Madeline Logan (Brandon) found the back of the net in the 18th minute with an assist from Evie Manders (Shrewsbury, England) making the score, 1-0. The Lady Bulldogs then ramped up the pressure offensively and fired several shots on goal throughout the first half. However, Olivia Conway (Huddersfield, England) and the defensive back line for the Lady Wolves were up to the task as they kept the Lady Bulldogs off the board and maintained their 1-0 as the horn sounded for halftime.

In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs continued with the offensive pressure but could not find the back of the net. However, a penalty kick was awarded in the 66th minute and the Lady Bulldogs converted the attempt to tie the game at 1-1. They then scored the go-ahead goal in the 83rd minute to take a 2-1 lead. The Lady Wolves continued to fight until the end of the match and fired shots on target, but could not find an equalizer as the Lady Bulldogs held on for a 2-1 win.

Conway set a new career high in saves with 16 on 18 shots on goal faced throughout the match.
